About Jessica

Hello there!

Welcome to my blog. I have been passionate about blogging for a long time because I believe that God created us to share our stories so that others may be encouraged and inspired to live faithfully in this world.

As a millenial who is approaching her 30s (eek!) I want to share my journey as a young mother, newbie pastor’s wife, and newly homeschooling mom. If you were to ask me 10 years ago where I thought I’d be now I would have never guessed I’d already have 3 kids (let alone be homeschooling them) and that my husband would become a pastor before turning 30. I was supposed to maybe just be having my first baby now and have at least 5 years of experience under my belt in a successful job using the Psychology degree I spent so much money on. But… as maybe you know for yourself, God makes the plans for our lives, not us. It took awhile for me to adjust to God’s plan for my life but I can say with confidence now I am loving my life, even when it means mountains of laundry and dirty dishes and all the poop (can’t believe I just said that). I’m excited to finally be following a dream of mine by having this blog and hope that you are inspired or helped in some way through the things I share here.

My husband is an Associate/Youth Pastor of a small town church in Southeastern Minnesota. I homeschool my almost 6 year old son (Theo) and will soon begin homeschooling my almost 5 year old daughter (Rosie). TJ, the baby, (who’s not a baby because he is 2.5) won’t need to be homeschooled since he has older siblings right? …Just kidding.

I’m also busy working in my home providing daycare for a local family! Even though I only have 3 kids I am caring for up to 5 kids, 5 days a week!

Aside from writing about parenting and homeschooling I also¬†might touch on topics like marriage, family, church ministry, culture and worldview, modesty and fashion, women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, postpartum care, orphan care and adoption, daycare/child care, homemaking, diy, furniture painting, and movies (because I love movies…probably too much. I homeschool so I really should love books more, but it’s movies for me).

I hope you decide to stick around to connect with me. I love getting in touch with wiser, more experienced homeschooling moms and relating with fellow women in my stage of life! I also love to hear from the younger generation as they explore and dream about their futures or struggle and thrive through different circumstances than I’ve experienced. Follow my blog via the link on my page so you can get an email every time I post! Thank you for your support! See ya around.
