Painted walls & Vintage Toys: A Thursday Update

Just want to say thanks for following my blog. It means a lot to have you around! This week my husband is gone leading a youth mission trip out west. My mom has been hanging out with us and helping with the kids so I can work on some projects around the house I’ve been wanting to do for a long time.43460042522_ddc2e46348_o

It’s been nice to have some built in time to do some things I don’t normally get to do…like paint walls, ha.

We enjoyed a short evening walk at Quarry Hill Nature Center in Rochester, MN where the kids kept finding interesting bugs and I was constantly worried about poison ivy. First, we got some delicious dinner at our local Chick-Fil-A picnic style.43460062132_08ac401004_o

The kids have spent hours in our little kiddie pool in the backyard with Grandma. Sunglasses and snow cones and beach balls have been some key essential items in our day. The kids really miss their dad though and daddy misses them. He’s been able to call and say hi which has been a blessing.

Yesterday, we made a quick stop to Lark Toys in Kellogg, MN. I don’t know what is so magical about kids staring into the past via the vintage and antique toy museum, but man, it sure is. 28621185627_9a5167aae4_oGrandma bought the kids their choice of ice cream or fudge. Theo and Rosie had ice cream and TJ picked fudge. We rode the carousel twice and then headed home.

Tomorrow we will head up to the Twin Cities for some more fun outings. Our mission this week is to make memories and enjoy each other…and for me to get some random stuff done too 😉

Happy Thursday!
