We recently went on a road trip (about a 12 hour drive not including stop times). I wanted to be well prepared for our time in the car with the kids. As a 6, 4, and 2 year old sometimes being in the car for long periods of time get really hard. We’re not at the reading whole books all by yourself stage yet. While I did some reading to them in the car, it gets tiring after a while on my voice and sometimes they just needed to do their own thing with something quiet.
So, in honor of Amazon Prime day, here’s what I got our kids for our road trip and I absolutely love these awesome finds. They came quickly in the time I needed them and were reasonably priced.
I got Rosie a small Frozen sticker book. She had a larger one but this size was better for her lap in the car. She of course had a ton of fun with it and still does.
Mazes on the Go! This cute little almost wallet sized maze book was perfect to pull out when somebody just needed something a little bit challenging but fun. It’s small size is easy for packing. My kids like to just trace with their finger and that way the mazes can be done over and over.
My kids love look and find pages. So this Hidden Pictures Around the World was perfect for their age level and skill. Plus, the travel theme was fun since we were traveling.
I picked this Tape Activity Book for Theo because he LOVES tape. So, rather than have him play with scotch tape and make some strange things that usually end up getting thrown in the trash, he got to have a tape book that he can still reuse. The tape tears easily and you can peel it off the pages and re-stick it to others. I seriously love this purchase. Theo loves it too! Just make sure to keep track of your little rolls of tape 😉
For TJ I got him this Go Fish Magnet Wood Activity Maze Puzzle. It is adorable. It’s a great little lap activity and easy for him to hold. The kids all love to play with this at home now too. It’s MESS FREE with all the parts attached.
Then I picked this National Geographic Kids Ultimate U.S. Road Trip Atlas because it seemed fitting. We had fun paging through some of the pages (did not get through it all!) and learning new things about the places we were. This is a great thing I will hang onto for homeschooling when we study more geography.
So there ya have it! I think out of all the things on this list, the Tape Activity Book was my favorite purchase. In second place is the Wooden Fishy Maze.
